Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:

locates and applies applicable legislation, documentation, policies and procedures

implements procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient implementation of mine services systems including:

providing team leadership

identifying and addressing training needs

implementing hazard identification and risks assessment processes

managing work planning and coordination activities

accessing, interpreting and applying manufacturer’s instructions

accessing, interpreting and applying:

technical information

briefings and handover details

site/legislative requirements

records and reports

applying maintenance survey procedures

demonstrates the identification and selection of viable options for the implementation of mine services and systems that best meet the required outcomes through:

accessing, interpreting and applying safety design features of the systems

accessing, interpreting and applying maintenance and modification systems implementation requirements and procedures

works effectively with others to undertake and complete the implementation of mine services systems including:

managing people and processes

resolving conflict

coordinating human, financial and physical resources

developing, initiating and administering work plans

interpreting and applying operational performance data

engaging internal and external stakeholders

demonstrates completion of the implementation of mine services and systems that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

identification of the relevant information and scope of the work

identifying the full range of specification requirements

identifying all aspects of the mine services systems

implementing installation and commissioning procedures

implementing systems for the operation and maintenance of mine services systems and equipment

implementing and managing the audit and review processes


Knowledge Evidence

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge in implementing mine services systems through:

legislative, Australian standards, organisation and site requirements and procedures for;

emergency response and disaster planning processes

audit review

site document control

site environmental monitoring

risk management

site reporting

energy sources including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel

site design relating to mine services systems

computer based systems

firefighting systems and precaution rules

stores systems

mine operating procedures

safety design features for maintenance of mine services systems

maintenance surveys
